Editing time block information

Methods for editing time blocks

You can edit time block information by selecting a time block. See Selecting and deselecting time blocks.

Next, you can edit the time block information:

  1. Edit any of the information in the time block.
Note: See Time Block Edit Pane for field-level information.
  2. When you are done editing the time block, click Update.

Editing multiple time blocks at the same time

Editing multiple time blocks at the same time is a powerful and unique feature of WorkSchedule.Net. It lets you edit one or more properties of the time block without affecting any of the other properties.

To edit multiple time blocks:

  1. Select the Time Blocks you want to edit.
Note: Selected time blocks turn blue. See Selecting and deselecting time blocks for more information.
  2. Edit the categories as necessary, and then click Update. The changes you make are reflected in all time blocks.

Each property in the Time Block Edit Pane only contains a value if all time blocks contain the same category item. If one value is not shared among all time blocks, the category will be blank. Changes to property values will update all the selected time blocks for the specific property

Opening or closing the Time Block Edit Pane

You can choose to have the Time Block Edit Pane in an open (displayed) position by clicking the add icon (+) or by clicking on a cell in the Schedule.

To hide the Time Block Edit Pane in a closed position, you can manually move the pane down by clicking on the top black section with your mouse and moving it down in add mode, or you can click on another cell that does not have a time block in edit mode. If you manually move the pane down, it will stay in that position when opened.

Locking the Time Block Edit Pane

You can lock time block information by clicking the unlock icon on the right side of the Time Block Edit Pane. When you click the unlock icon, it turns into a lock icon.

When locked in the open position, the Time Block Edit Pane appears even when you have no time blocks or cells selected. When locked in the closed position it stops the pane from popping up each time you select time blocks or cells when locked in the closed position.
